Elstead is one of the leading residential lighting manufacturer and distributors in the UK. Established in 1967 at the Forge in Elstead Village, Elstead expanded and moved to Alton in 1971 where they now employ over 80 staff and have manufacturing facilities of over 8,000 square metres across two sites. In 2012, Elstead opened a subsidiary in Poland with sales and distribution facilities to service the European market.
Elstead specialises in decorative residential lighting that take classical influences in their design and style. Elstead are proud to still use traditional handcrafts in the production of their lights as well as embrace the modern technology available with CNC machines. A large number of the Elstead interior collection is manufactured in Alton using traditional welding and patination skills to create distinctive products.
Elstead have one of the leading outdoor collections using materials such as; solid brass, stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, copper, polymer and teak. Many of the products are manufactured from die-cast aluminium and have different levels of guarantee depending on the family and type of finish being used. Elstead have introduced their own brand Garden Zone, a range designed specifically for the Landscape and Garden. Models include lanterns, bollards, lamp-posts, landscape spikes, spots and in-ground fittings.
Elstead also distributes a great range of professional architectural products from Norlys, many of the products coming with up to 25 years anti-corrosion warranty. New for 2012, Elstead will now distribute a great collection of LED products from LUTEC, many with energy efficient properties.
Elstead acquired the Lui’s Collection of lamp base and shades in 2009 and developed the range to offer more than 100 models. There is a large variety of modern ceramic, crystal and oriental porcelain with a great selection of shades that you can mix and match with the bases.
In 2011 Elstead launched the Harlequin Lighting Collection, an exclusive license agreement with Harlequin, the internationally recognised manufacturer and designer of fine fabrics and wall papers. This collection is retro-contemporary in style and uses a great selection of Harlequin fabrics on the shades.
In 2012 Elstead introduced four North American lighting brands into the 240v market including Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. Elstead has signed partnership deals with Feiss, Hinkley, Quoizel and Flambeau to modify a selection from each of their portfolios, so their products are suitable for the 240v electric supply. This selection will grow each year to offer more from these great USA designed products.
About Cougar Lighting
Cougar Lighting began in humble beginnings in a 55 Square metre factory in Norwood, South Australia in 1975.It then moved to a larger premises in West Lakes by the late 1970's, as its market expanded interstate.
With the introduction of its Colonial and Federation ranges in the early 1980's Cougar then shifted to Windsor Gardens. Cougar also invested in a an Electro Plating plant at Para Hills to keep up with demand of its "Made In Australia" product.
In the late 1980's Cougar then moved its factory to Salsibury South and invested in metal spinning and wood lathes.
In the middle of the 1990's Cougar Lighting then moved to Golden Grove where at its peak employed 55 staff members. The market then started changing with the onset of China and the move towards more modern styles of lighting. The landscape of Lighting was changed forever.
In October 2008 we shifted into our new warehouse at Pooraka, South Australia. At over 3,500 square metres our new warehouse is 3 times the size of our previous warehouse at Golden Grove. This new premises with state of the art warehouse and office facilities will further allow us to continue to supply you, our valued client, with the level of service that you have become accustomed to when dealing with Cougar Lighting. Cougar Lighting remains and still is a family owned company.
